In daily life, the clothing fabrics we come into contact with are varied and diverse. Different fabrics have different textures, styles, and performances. Among them, the most common fabric is called jacquard fabric. What kind of fabric is it? How to maintain this fabric? Let's take a closer look.
1. What is jacquard fabric
Jacquard cotton is a kind of fabric different from printed cotton. It is a kind of textile composed of warp and weft lines in two different directions. It also has uneven patterns. The patterns are woven in the weaving process, and different patterns can be woven according to different fabric bases. This fabric is suitable for a wide range of people and can be used to make clothing or bedding. Because it is thin, soft, and breathable, it is very popular. It's just that this fabric is easy to fade and lose elasticity over time, so it needs to be well maintained in normal times.
2. Maintenance methods of jacquard fabrics
1. Washing: When washing this fabric, it is not suitable to rub it with rough clothes, and it is even more unsuitable to wash it in a washing machine. The correct way is to soak the clothes of this fabric in clean water for 5-10 minutes, then use a special detergent or neutral soap, rub it gently, and then rinse it repeatedly with clean water.
2. Drying: It is not suitable to expose it to the sun after washing, and it is not suitable to dry it in a dryer. Usually, the clothes should be placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry. Because the strong ultraviolet rays in the sun can easily make silk fabrics yellow, fade, and age, it is best not to twist the clothes of this fabric by hand to remove water after washing. Just shake it gently, then spread it out with the reverse side facing out, dry it until it is 70% dry, and then iron it or shake it flat.
3. Ironing: The wrinkle resistance of this fabric is slightly worse than that of chemical fibers, so if the clothes are wrinkled after washing, they can be ironed, so that they are crisp, elegant, neat and beautiful. The temperature should be controlled below 150°C during ironing, and the iron should not directly touch the silk surface to avoid aurora and damage to the fabric.
4. Storage: For this kind of fabric, it should be washed and ironed before storage. For autumn and winter clothing that is inconvenient to disassemble and wash, such as: jacket, Hanfu, cheongsam, etc., it is recommended to use dry cleaning method to clean and iron until it is flat, in order to prevent mildew, moths, etc. Only after ironing can it play a role in sterilization and insecticide. At the same time, when storing clothes in boxes and cabinets, keep them clean and seal them as much as possible to prevent secondary pollution of dust.
