Jacquard fabric is a cotton fabric or chemical fiber blended fabric with woven patterns.

Classification of jacquard fabrics

1. Classification by variety characteristics:

Generally, jacquard fabrics are mostly used as accessories (such as scarves, etc.), bed sheets, tablecloths, curtains and other interior decorations; jacquard poplin, jacquard linen, and jacquard yarn are mostly used for women's clothing.

2. Classification by pattern:

Big jacquard and small pattern (also called small jacquard):

Big jacquard: Big jacquard patterns include flowers, dragons and phoenixes, animals, landscapes, figures, etc. There are single flowers, 2 flowers, 4 flowers or more of the same pattern in the whole width of the fabric. It is woven on a jacquard machine. The number of warp yarn cycles ranges from hundreds to more than a thousand. The pattern is large and exquisite, with distinct color levels and a strong three-dimensional sense. Small pattern patterns are mostly dot flowers or small geometric patterns, woven on a 16-24-page dobby loom. Due to the limitation of the number of heald frames used, the woven pattern is relatively simple.

Small jacquard: Small jacquard weave is a weave that uses a multi-arm loom to form various small patterns on the surface of the fabric through the changes of two or more fabric weaves. For example, various small pattern weaves of the same color or different color as the ground weave are configured on a plain or twill ground. Small patterns are relatively concentrated in one kind of weave points or floating lines of warp and weft. Pattern types include linear type, striped type, scattered pattern type, etc.

3. Classification according to color:

It is divided into multi-color jacquard and monochrome jacquard: Monochrome jacquard is jacquard dyed fabric: the jacquard grey cloth is first woven on a jacquard loom and then dyed and finished, and the finished fabric is solid color. Multi-color jacquard is a yarn-dyed jacquard fabric: the yarn is first dyed and then woven on a jacquard loom, and finally finished. Therefore, the yarn-dyed jacquard fabric has more than two colors, the fabric is rich in color, not monotonous, the pattern has a strong three-dimensional sense, and the grade is higher. The width of the fabric is not limited, and the pure cotton fabric has a slight shrinkage, does not pill, and does not fade.

Characteristics of jacquard fabrics

1. In actual production, dobby fabrics are mostly yarn-dyed, with all or part of the warp and weft yarns in different colors, or warp and weft yarns of different raw materials, fineness, twist, twist direction, etc., and fancy yarns can also be used.

2. Dobby fabrics have a tight and delicate appearance, and the patterns are not very prominent or exaggerated. They are mostly used for thin fabrics, and their application is becoming more and more extensive.
